Elio Grasso(裡奧拉索酒莊)位於意大利Piedmont(皮埃蒙特)Barolo(巴羅洛)最好的產區 Monforte d』Alba,這裡在 20 世紀初就開始種植葡萄,莊主Elio Grasso 於1979年放棄了銀行的工作跑到 Monforte 經營這間 14公頃的酒莊,在大師 Aldo 的協助與建議,Elio Grasso  在古典派與現代派間開創了自我的風格,他的幾款酒被認為是整個 Barolo 地區最為傑出酒款之ㄧ,而他的兒子 Gianluca Grasso 從釀酒學校畢業後,擔任酒莊的釀酒師,GianLuca 第一次釀酒,就得到 Gambero Rosso 「 Red Wine of the Year 」 的肯定,Antonio Galloni ( Parker雜志專門評分意大利酒的專家)說 : Elio Grasso 的兒子 Gianluca 是 Piedmont 地區,最年輕燿眼的釀酒師之一。

酒莊現在有三個單一葡萄園的 Barolo : 其中兩個 Gavarini Vigna Chiniera 和 Ginestra Vigna Casa Maté 是儲存於南斯拉夫大橡木桶裡,是傳統派的酒款。另一個 Barolo Rüncot(亦是小編特別推介款) 占地 1.8 公頃,位於海拔 300~320 公尺,面向南方的 Barolo Rüncot 單一葡萄園,以現代的方式釀制葡萄酒,存放在法國橡木桶內 28~30 個月,之後再到不鏽鋼桶內進行乳酸發酵。Barolo Rüncot Riserva 只有在絕佳的年度才有生產。每年 70,000 瓶的產量。

Elio Grasso』s Runcot Riserva has a serious following among Barolo collectors. The 2007 shows amazing purity of fruit, with strawberry, cherry and floral character. It』s full-bodied, with superb tannins—and the fruit goes on for minutes.

The flagship 2007 Barolo Riserva Runcot is remarkably fresh for the year. Sweet, perfumed and sensual, the 2007 wraps around the palate with stunning depth and sheer radiance. Layers of expressive red fruit, flowers, spices and mint all come to life as the wine opens up. The Runcot captures the best qualities of the year; deep fruit, expressive aromatics and wonderful nuance, all in a soft, supple wine that should enjoy a long drinking window. I can’t wait to see how the 2007 ages. Today it is seamless and utterly impeccable from the very first taste. This is without question one of the great 2007s. Grasso gave the 2007 40 days on the skins, followed by 45 months in 100% new French oak barrels, all of which the wine handles with grace to burn.

Elio Grasso did not produce the Barolo Riserva in 2005, 2009 or 2011. However, you can enjoy the stunning 2007 Barolo Riserva Runcot shortly. Super-low yields in the vineyard (down to three clusters per vine) make for a wine of enormous intensity and beauty. The whole effect is truly spectacular. Soaring aromas of dark fruit, licorice, tar, pressed rose, lavender, garden herb, dried mint and brimstone develop momentum and power with each swirl of the glass. Nebbiolo-s trademark structure holds the wine together, but the beautiful 2007 vintage has added its part with extra layers of softness and richness. This is pure pleasure. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2038.

Wine Spectator 93 pts
Rich and open, offering a lush, velvety texture and ripe cherry notes that conceal a core of iron, licorice and eucalyptus. This is firm, focused and vibrant, with lively acidity driving the fresh, resonant finish. Approachable now, but should be better in a few years. Best from 2015 through 2030.
